From Cherhill Monument (White Horse) to the A4 is 1 mile.

From the A4, turning to Cherhill village, is 2½ miles to The White Horse Inn, our Headquarters for the prize giving.

Winning Team

At each stage, runners to be awarded points: 1 for the 1st finisher, 2 for the 2nd finisher, 3 for the third finisher, etc. Additionally 1 point is added for the number of runners in a team. The winning team is the team with the least points.

In the event of 'no runner' for a leg, the team will be deemed to have come last for that stage.

No time keepers necessary

We will not record times except, since it might be useful, the (approx) winning time at each leg and the time for the last runner, for future organisation

Prizes

will be presented in The White Horse Inn at Compton Bassett

In future years we will consider other prizes, for example: 1st Vets teams (M & F)

Resumé

There are 14 stages covering a total distance of about 75 miles.
If there are 7 runners in a team then each runner must run two non-consecutive stages, preferably one stage in stages 1 to 7 and one stage from 8 to 14. The team will start with 7 points.
If there are 8 runners in a team then six runners must run two non-consecutive stages, and two runners will run one stage each. The team will start with 8 points.
If there are 9 runners in a team then five runners must run two non-consecutive stages, and four runners will run one stage each. The team will start with 9 points.
If there are 10 runners in a team then four runners must run two non-consecutive stages, and the other six runners will run one stage each. The team will start with 10 points.
