A cross country 5k race series which
consists of 4 races between April and July.

Each race will start at 19:00
Aim
- To raise the profile of AVR
- To raise money for various projects
- To have fun
Not necessarily in that order!
To Do
- Starter and Recorder and the necessary
marshalling equipment including signage.
- Starter:
- The Race Director or appointee
- Referee:
- Name of Race Referee
- Race Referee's Licence No: not necessary
- Timekeeper:
- Recorder (Timekeeper's assistant):
- On the day entries will be entered by the same people who are the timekeeper and the recorder.
- 5 Marshals:
- Bibs/tabards for each marshal.
- Marshalling Duties
- It would be nice to have a sweep runner.
- Toilets - At The Longs Arms.
- Water or container and cups will be available
at the finish area or in the Longs Arms
- Headquarters for the event.
- The Longs Arms, Steeple Ashton.
- Prizes.

- A medal for all runners who complete 3 out of the 4 events

- Souvenir prizes: None
- Obtaining police permission (and help, if necessary) and Medical Provision
- Police not necessary since it uses no roads
- Two qualified First Aiders

Risk Assessment
- Suitability of the route - Not suitable for wheelchairs
- Start and Finish areas.
- Where marshals are required:
- At the sign post towards the end of the first straight track. Runners follow the sign, turning left.
- At a junction of two tracks to ensure that the runners continue straight on.
- At the top of the track at a junction to ensure that the runners continue straight on.
- At East Town Farm where the runners turn round.
- The race could be held with only one marshal (at point 4, the turn round point)
using tape and arrows instead of the other marshals.
